This site is dedicated to the memory of Trevor Mort.

Diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in January 2012, Trevor was an active and loving father, who died, surrounded by his family, on 07 May 2012. In autumn 2011, he became concerned about his lack of breath and successfully decided to quit smoking. His breathing slightly improved, but an unrelated visit to a doctor caused concern about his lungs, when his clubbed fingers, something he has had since he was small, were noticed. It seemed that he might of been suffering a medical condition unnoticed for some time. Multiple tests and scans later, all the while his breathlessness increased, he was diagnosed with in-reversible lung damage due to IPF. In a very short space of time Trevor became totally dependent on oxygen, confused and bed bound, with the damage taking it's final toll within 6 weeks of diagnosis. IPF needs further funds to drive research into new medicines, diagnostic techniques and education to; - find the root cause of the disease and find ways to prevent it - help extend the lives of those afflicted by this disease - improve the quality of life of those afflicted, especially during the final days - detect the signs of lung problems much earlier, especially in the young
